Waikīkī Swim Club® is Hawai’i’s oldest organized club devoted to promoting safe and fun ocean swimming. The club is dedicated to continuing a long tradition of ocean swimming in Hawai’i.
Ocean Races
The club sponsors several ocean swim events, including the North Shore Swim Series, a Biathlon Series (Holiday, Magic Island, and Valentine’s Day Biathlons), a charitable fundraiser “Guess Your Time” swim, Turkey Swim and the Fin Swim at Ala Moana Beach Park. These events are a great way to meet other swimmers, challenge yourself, and can be a great motivator for training.

With about 200 members, including swimmers spanning a wide range of age and ability, we encourage you to join us and enjoy the magical Hawaiian ocean and camaraderie of our organization!
Ocean Safety
While beautiful, Hawai’i’s waters can surprise even the strongest swimmers. Remember – if in doubt, don’t go out. Other rules include:
- Always wear a bright cap – this allows group members and boats to see you. Bright buoys are great too!
- Check conditions and take time to watch the water before entering
- Swim in groups with people your pace, within groups have a buddy
- If you are the lead, ensure you are keeping track of the group you started with
- Communicate regularly
- Train regularly
- Know your limits
About our Club!
Waikīkī Swim Club was established in 1971 and holds the distinction of being Hawai’i’s oldest organized club dedicated to promoting safe and enjoyable ocean swimming. With its extensive history, WSC is committed to serving the swimming community by organizing and backing ocean races, arranging social gatherings to keep swimmers connected, and providing support to the wider swimming community.
