Waikīkī Swim Club® has a long heritage of adult swimming. The first Waikīkī Roughwater Swim was held in 1969, and the organizers of the race founded the Waikīkī Swim Club (WSC) in 1971. Our main goal is to promote fun and safe swimming while keeping the O’ahu swim community strong. We hope you will join us!

As a proud domestic non-profit organization, our mission is to serve and uplift our community! 🏊‍♀️🌟 Last year, we adjusted our membership dues for the first time in years to better support our initiatives, and we’re excited to share that dues will remain the same for 2025. These contributions allow us to bring even more value and opportunities to our incredible swim community.

Annual dues to join WSC are only $30 for individuals and $45 per family!

Dues cover membership for one calendar year regardless of when you sign up. Memberships are due for renewal at the beginning of each year.

Membership Due

Members form informal swimming groups “pods” at various locations around the Island depending upon conditions. WSC members typically gather in small groups with swimmers matching based on ability, availability, and location. Pod swims are NOT official club-sponsored or sanctioned events, and pod leaders are volunteers. We do not take responsibility for individuals, but we do our best to watch out for one another.

Please discuss a communication plan with your group if it’s your first swim. Each group leader may have their own rules and expectations. WSC aims to match swimmers with groups as an additional service of the club, but there is no guarantee we can match you. WSC REQUESTS that you submit the Swimmer Self-Assessment Form to determine the swim group that best fits your best pace.

Unfortunately, we are no longer able to support this service for visitors. We are working with a few other groups to better serve visitor needs.

Swimmer Assessment Form

In 2024, WSC processed over 150 swimmer assessments. We thank members Denise Webb and Valisa Saunders for their ongoing dedication and hard work in matching new swimmers to groups that match their abilities.
